One of the sweetest parts of planning a wedding is the cake tasting! What better excuse to have to try 1 of everything at the bakery?! Our wedding cake was purchased at the Beaverton Bakery. I highly recommend the Beaverton Bakery for all your wedding cake needs. Their cake recipes are authentic and their decorated cakes are a work of art! We wanted our wedding cake to be appealing to the eye, delicious, and show expressions of who we are as a couple. That is why we went with a chocolate and vanilla marble cake decorated with bright blue and turquoise flowers. They captured my wedding colors to the T!

Strut Your Stuff

As I was giving the glance over of the latest Vogue issue I can't help but love the fact that curvier women are now modeling swim wear. Forget having to be a stick thin size 2 to look good in a bikini, Beyonce and Kate Upton strut their stuff and rock their curves! Pow!

Glammin it up for the Big Day!

For my Big Day I chose to go for smoked out eyes with big fake fluttery lashes. Since I went for a dramatic sparkly eye I wanted the rest of my face including foundation, blush, and lips to be completely matte. I wore the BEST nude lip color I have ever found called Shy Girl I totes recommend! My lips were outlined with a lip liner called Nice n' Spicy, it definitely gave me a nice n' spicy look. ;) I got my make up done by a fabulous  bridal make up artist at the MAC counter downtown in Pioneer Square. My bridal vision was to look elegant and chic with a splash of my artistic edge. Check it out!

It's a scientific fact women with a close network of good friends live longer than those who don't! Girlfriends ward off unhealthy behaviors, boost self esteem, and provide support. We all know the only way we can look good on the outside is if we feel good on the inside. I love my girls!

Here Comes the Bride in Bridal Couture

Rami Kashou from Project Runway was the designer of my bridal gown. I ordered it online at bebe.com, I didn't participate in the whole bridal gown shopping experience with my friends and family because as soon as I saw this dress online I knew it was the one I would marry my man in! So instead as soon as my dress arrived in the mail I tried it on and threw a party for it. A dress this fabulous deserves a party, and it fit like a glove no alterations needed! I would strongly recommend any of his gowns for brides to be I would describe Rami's dresses as glamorous with a bit of edge and full of originality!

Pucker Up! Debunking Lead in Lipstick Reports

Being a gal that loves to rock a pop of color on my lips and after hearing about consumer reports of lipstick containing ingredients that included dangerous amounts of lead I had to investigate for myself. Almost all lipsticks contain at least small traces of lead, this is a common ingredient used in the production of lipstick. To start off we can rest easy that the FDA has confirmed that the level of lead used in lipsticks does not pose a safety concern. When you apply lipstick if you don't smooch it off ;) it is eventually ingested or absorbed into you body. You are not being exposed to any more lead from your lipstick then you are from food products such as candy, however there are no safe levels of lead for children so keeping lipstick away from the little munchkins is a must for it could possibly lower their ability to learn. The lipstick brands that tend to contain the most lead are Cover Girl, Revlon, and Nars. The lipstick brands that appear to have the least include MAC, Clinique, and Dior. Through my research I have found no alarming evidence to persuade me from accentuating my kisser!

I'm Smitten with Smolder

We all know shopping for the right eyeliner is like shopping for the right pair of jeans, it can be frustrating and tricky to find the perfect one. Good news! There is no need to search any longer for the perfect eyeliner, it's as close as your nearest MAC counter. The Black Smolder eyeliner pencil from MAC is AMAZING! It glides on smooth not shaky and is thick and dark. Nothing is more sexy then a smoked out cat eye for a night out or you can use it just to outline the rims of your eyes for during the day.

It doesn't smear into your eyelid creases and stays put just along the lash line as eyeliner should. Me being one that has deep set eyes finds this to be a huge plus. So many eyeliners I have tried I will put on and an hour later the eyeliner applied to my lash line is now in my eyelid crease. Blah! It also doesn't rub off when applied to your water line which I find a lot of other eyeliners will do. The only down fall to this eyeliner is it's hard to get off. When you put it on, it's on for the day. It does take some effort to wash off but that's okay, because it looks fabulous!
